Debian package fails to build from source

Reported by: marius kotsbak <marius.kotsbak@…> Owned by:
Priority: major Milestone: 2.1.3
Component: telldus-core Version: 2.1.1
Keywords: Cc:
Blocked By: Blocking:
Platform: Linux Sensitive: no
Verified by Telldus: no

Description

I tried getting the Debian/Ubuntu source package and building it, but it is missing build dependencies specified in control file ("Build-Depends:").

I changed to:

Build-Depends: debhelper (>= 7), libftdi-dev, libconfuse-dev

but it still fails to compile:

telldus-core-2.1.1/common/Socket_unix.cpp: In destructor ‘virtual TelldusCore::Socket::~Socket()’:

telldus-core-2.1.1/common/Socket_unix.cpp:44:18: error: ‘close’ was not declared in this scope

Also "cmake" should be added to build-depends. I actually then have all requirements specified to build it for Raspberry Pi:

 http://elinux.org/R-Pi_Tellstick_core#Install_prerequisites

but it does not build anyway (the 2.1.1 version at least).

Help2man package is also needed, so this is the complete build dependencies I needed:

Build-Depends: debhelper (>= 7), libftdi-dev, libconfuse-dev, cmake, help2man

Anyway the package should be built using e.g. pbuilder to verify that all dependencies are right (it does with the line above, just with some warnings).

Argh, nothing has happened with the ITP report, and now I get a build error:

telldus-core-2.1.1/common/Socket_unix.cpp:44:18: error: ‘close’ was not declared in this scope

Solving it by adding in include to the file:

"#include <unistd.h>"
