== How to update the firmware in TellStick and TellStick Duo ==

Please see below for your operating system.

=== Windows XP ===

The service running must be stopped in order for the flasher utility to see the TellStick.[[BR]]
Open "Services". You find it under:[[BR]]
Start menu -> (Control panel) -> Administrative Tools -> Services[[BR]]
Find "TelldusService" in the list and press "Stop Service".[[BR]]

You can now run the flasher utility, TellStickFlasher.exe, from the TelldusCenter installation directory.

=== Windows 7 ===

The service running must be stopped in order for the flasher utility to see the TellStick.[[BR]]
 1. Open the control panel from the start menu[[BR]][[Image(ctrlpan.PNG)]][[BR]][[BR]]
 1. Select "System and Security" and then "Administrative tools"[[BR]][[Image(sysandsecurity.PNG)]][[Image(admtool.PNG)]][[BR]][[BR]]
 1. Double click "Services" in the new window[[BR]][[Image(services.PNG)]][[BR]][[BR]]
 1. Scroll down to "Telldus Service", right click it and click "Stop"[[BR]][[Image(stopservice.PNG)]]

You can now run the flasher utility, TellStickFlasher.exe, from the TelldusCenter installation directory.

=== Mac OS X ===
Open the terminal.
Run the following command:
sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.telldus.service.plist

You need to enter your password.

Now you can run the flasher utility, which can be downloaded here:[[BR]][http://download.telldus.com/TellStick/Software/TellStickNetFlasher/TellStickNetFlasher.dmg] (yes, despite its name it works for TellStick and TellStick Duo too)

Q: I have updated the firmware in TellStick Duo, but want to downgrade again. How do I do that?[[BR]]
A: Download an older firmware ([http://download.telldus.com/TellStick/Software/firmware/]), stop the service as described above, drag-and-drop the .hex-file to TellStickFlasher.exe (located in your TelldusCenter installation folder), and follow the instructions.
