How to update the firmware in TellStick and TellStick Duo

Please see below for your operating system.

Windows XP

The service running must be stopped in order for the flasher utility to see the TellStick.
Open "Services". You find it under:
Start menu -> (Control panel) -> Administrative Tools -> Services
Find "TelldusService" in the list and press "Stop Service".

You can now run the flasher utility, TellStickFlasher.exe, from the TelldusCenter installation directory.

Windows 7

The service running must be stopped in order for the flasher utility to see the TellStick.

1. Open the control panel from the start menu
   
   
   
2. Select "System and Security" and then "Administrative tools"
   
   
   
3. Double click "Services" in the new window
   
   
   
4. Scroll down to "Telldus Service", right click it and click "Stop"
   

You can now run the flasher utility, TellStickFlasher.exe, from the TelldusCenter installation directory.

Mac OS X

Open the terminal. Run the following command: sudo launchctl unload /Library/LaunchDaemons/com.telldus.service.plist

You need to enter your password.

Now you can run the flasher utility, which can be downloaded here:
​http://download.telldus.com/TellStick/Software/TellStickNetFlasher/TellStickNetFlasher.dmg (yes, despite its name it works for TellStick and TellStick Duo too)

Questions

Q: I have updated the firmware in TellStick Duo, but want to downgrade again. How do I do that?
A: Download an older firmware (​http://download.telldus.com/TellStick/Software/firmware/), stop the service as described above, drag-and-drop the .hex-file to TellStickFlasher.exe (located in your TelldusCenter installation folder), and follow the instructions.
